Cidd Review: Carve your Game Up!

Hoopa Gamers! Since Epic Seven's launch, Cidd - aka Animal Instinct- remains one of the highest single DPS unit in the game. With a very high speed base, a full kit based on a kill and a damage scaling on his speed - nothing can go wrong in chosing him as your main DPS. With the right set up, his s3 ignores elemental advantage and if it kills: you are in for few deadly procs, and it can become highly ridiculous with Rhianna & Luciella artefact. But his performance comes with a high cost of investment in terms of stats and team composition. We need to mention than Cidd isn't only PvP material, as we have been using him as main DPS to complete many PvE contents. The PROS: - Has one of the highest speed base in the game. - A freak, absolute killer machine and defence breaker - a good farmer with R&L. - One of the highest single DPS damage in the game. - If he has a speed buff while using s3, he has elemental advantage.

- If he kills an enemy on s3, he gains another turn. 3 turn cool down only. Damage scaling on his speed. - His s2 is a passive granting his s1 with additional damage and one turn def break if he has speed buff. - His s1 will benefit from his s2 passive, providing def break and additional damage. Damage based on his speed. - With full buffs, he can take out mostly anything in PvP with his s3. - All his skills synergise perfectly together for perpetual def break / kills.

The CONS: - Has a very low def stats / on the squishy side. - Requires 100% crit to ensure speed buff on s1 which is key for his damage and skill/passive activation. - To perform well on PvP, need a faster unit able to boost his speed / attack to ensure a kill. - Needs heavy stats investment to cover his lack of tankiness while keeping is damage very high for a PvE use. The SET: Speed/Crit. Your t6 Abyss set to use him in your early PvE will work very well too. We recommend Speed Boots, Attack% on Ring and Critical Damage% on Necklace. The early STATS (based on average 70 level+ epic gears, maxed at 15):

You will find plenty of data mine and math online about Cidd speed /attack / damage ratios. Below a nice balance for overall use on Speed/Crit, as first you could use him with a faster Speed/Att buffer like Yuna, Roozid, Silk, etc to improve his damage efficiency. - Speed: 190+ - Attack: 2K+ - Def: 750+ - HP: 8K+ - Critical Chance: 85%+ - Critical Damage: 195%+ - Effectiveness: any remaining stats will help.

The ARTEFACTS:

- Rhianna & Luciella: 10-20.0% chance to be granted an extra turn at the of the turn. Can be activated once per turn.

When you managed to kill a unit with s3 proc'ing an additional s1 and R&L activates - you are in for a serie of kills! One of the best to tag def break all around and ensure he casts speed buff perpetually for maximal damage.

- Wind Rider:Casts stealth and increases Attack by 30-60.0% for 1 turn when the enemy is defeated. Very good all round to stay stealth against single DPS minions / boss teams while increasing his power to kill some more. Perfect in arena/GW in a fast cleave set up against single DPS comps.

- Devil Durst:15- 30.0% chance to attack again with a Basic Attack after attacking with a Basic Attack if the target survives.

Can be activated once per turn. Works very well as he will be using his s1 often.

- Elyha's Knife:Penetrates Defense by 10- 20.0% when attacking an enemy not at max Health.

This is specific in a team composition where you have another (fastest) unit able to deal damage ahead.

- Exorcist's Tonfa: A great budget artefact for overall use. - Joker: For PvE. His GOOD FRIENDS: - Yuna will come first as she is a farmable unit offering both Speed / Attack buff. Also, you will mostly need to farm 4-9 stage to unlock her and Cidd can solo farms that stage pretty well. - R.Roozid, speed buff and CR boost - helps to bring your Cidd at the top for first move. - Silk, always been a Cidd partner providing Speed Buff. - C.Domi, with her crit chance buff, pairs very well with Cidd in any party, allowing you to focus a bit more on his damage stats / switch critical set for Life or Def for example. You need to calculate speed scaling in bot 4vs and 3vs for PvP use to ensure C.Domi goes first. - Any unit who can be able to move before and apply Def Break / deal some damage to ensure a kill from Cidd on its first turn. Bellona / AOE def breaker obviously as Cidd can potentially have more than one kill on his first turn.

Some PvP mechanics:

You have two choices while using a Cidd. Either you build a team buffing him ahead (i.e.. Schuri/Yuna/Bellona) to ensure he can deliver/one shot a first enemy on his own- or you pair him with other fast nuke with CC (Ass Coli / Kise) to soften the target before Cidd move.

Some GB offence SET UP:

- Schuri / C.Domi / Cidd - ensure C.DOmi has some speed to go before Cidd and deal some damage.

- Against single DPS comps: Ass Coli / Cidd / ML Armin - use Wind Rider on Cidd. Ass Coli moves first and stealth, Cidd hopefully finish a unit and stealth, anyways ML Armin have your back for a safe second turn kill.

- R.Roozid / Bellona / Cidd - Wind Trinity.

How to counter a Cidd in PvP:

1. A very fast / tank Diene (or boosted by a CR), her crit reduction / shield to stop Cidd from a potential s3 kill and landing defence break with his s1.

2. As usual, any fast opener with CD reduction --> Stun--> Silence in that order to avoid hisr s3. FKluri too.

3. The Perfect Bait: Assassin Cartuja can make the whole team evade, helps to avoid Cidd crits and def break on his s1 as well.

At last, many of us have been clearing their Abyss and most Raids bosses using Cidd. Also used in Golems and Banshae. So highly consider him as a PvE main DPS as his speed and def break on s1 are highly valuable, not only in PvP.
